Younis Khan will line up along side Shane Warne and Graeme Smith for Jaipur in the Indian Premier League after the franchise paid his base bidding price of $225,000.
Younis, a member of the Pakistan team that made the Twenty20 World Cup final in September, is considered one of the best accumulators in limited overs cricket.
Although he may lack the aggression and ability to hit over the top like Shahid Afridi and Andrew Symonds but has a finesse that brings runs through reverse sweeps and such like. He is also a useful and energetic fielder well suited to the short format.
Younis was nowhere the near the highest Pakistani player to be bought at auction as that honour went to Afridi, who fetched a handsome fee of $650,000.
